Time for an Air Conditioning Upgrade for this Franklin Caravan

Sometimes every inch counts and that is the case for the owners of this Franklin XFactor where clearance is a major issue. And a new air conditioner replacing an old one is always nice for improved performance, a modern look, a smaller footprint and to save about 10kg. 

The best unit for the job given the brief is the low profile, streamlined Dometic FreshJet 7. An added benefit is that it also takes up less valuable real estate on the roof, meaning more space for solar, aerials, hatches and other devices. 

This is the process the AllBrand team undertook for this job as written by our Service Technician:

• Removal and Replacement of AC Unit 

The existing AC unit was removed from the roof assembly. The roof was then cleaned and prepared for the installation of the new Dometic AC unit. The mounting gasket was sealed and the cut-out in the roof was secured. The new AC unit was fitted, and both the 12v and 240v connections were made. The AC unit was then secured into position and its operation was tested.

So there you have it! A new modern, slimline, improved air conditioning unit and giving the owner the additional clearance they required.
