Clear communication helps customers make informed decisions
The owner of this Network RV caravan contacted AllBrand Caravan Services after discovering internal water damage in several areas of the van. The damage showed up as bubbling and deterioration of internal plywood around the ceiling, cupboards, and windows—often a sign of ongoing water ingress.
The customer initially submitted a caravan insurance claim and provided photos to both the insurer and our team. After assessment, it was explained that because there was no accidental impact damage and the issue was caused by seal failure, the repairs were unlikely to be covered by insurance. To get clear answers and protect the caravan from further damage, the customer approved a professional water leak inspection.
Caravan Water Leak Detection & Assessment
Our technicians completed a Free Visual Inspection, followed by a water pressure leak test using our specialised caravan water pressure testing machine—the most accurate method for locating hidden leaks.
During the inspection, we identified internal water damage in multiple areas, including:
-
- Ceiling plywood on the doorside near the air conditioning unit
- Two overhead cupboards beside the air conditioner, affecting both ceiling and back wall areas
- Plywood under overhead cupboards and around the dinette window
- Plywood in front of the roadside bedroom window
Additional Findings Included:
- Damaged plywood at the bottom left section of the roadside window
- Water-damaged ceiling ply near the air conditioning unit and middle overhead cupboards
- Damaged ply along the top of the doorside bedside window
- Silicone splitting on external corner moulds and H-moulds
- Splitting window sealant directly above areas of internal ply damage
The Pressure Test Also Confirmed:

Repair Plan
Testing confirmed that the internal water damage was caused by multiple failed seals, not a single leak source. Sealant failure around the air conditioning unit, windows, corner moulds, and H-moulds allowed water to enter and spread internally.
A clear, step-by-step repair plan was developed to:
- Stop further water ingress
- Allow accurate quoting for internal ply replacement
- Prevent future leaks by addressing all compromised seals
Recommended Repairs
All recommendations were fully supported with photos and test results.
